Congress Workers Protest Fuel Price Rise In Bhopal, Police Use Water Cannon, Lathi Charge

Thousands of Youth Congress members marched towards Shymala Hills in Bhopal on August 11. They wanted to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence. The Congress workers protested against rising fuel prices, unemployment, inflation & in support of OBC reservation. National Youth Congress president Srinivas BV, state president Vikrant Bhuria and MLA Jaivardhan Singh along with hundreds of workers were detained. Several Congress workers suffered injured. Around 2000 workers commenced the roadshow from the Congress office around 1 pm after the address by the president of the Congress Committee, Kamal Nath. Just a few meters ahead, the workers were stopped by the police who had barricaded the roads & deployed at least four water cannons. There was heavy police bandobast. Watch the video to know more.
