'One way to judge a person's true character is by observing how they treat animals. Well, in that case, Wendy Adriaens may be the best human walking on earth right now.
In this soul-stirring video, Wendy can be seen spending time with an ostrich she rescued.
She said: "I rescue ostriches (and other animals) from slaughter and/or abuse and raise them. Because of this, I have gained a true bond with them. Because I was afraid that my rescue chicks would die, I started spending at least 6 hours a day with them to make sure they’d survive."
She added: "They (chicks) now see me as a parent or part of their flock. What you see in this video has become a part of my daily routine and the birds wait for this moment every day. I take the blanket and sit with them, no matter how pleasant or extreme the weather gets."
This incredible footage was filmed in Wuustwezel, Belgium in February 2021, and has gone on to become a blockbuster on TikTok with almost 23.8 Million views.
