This clip features Andrew Sytsma witnessing a multiple-vortex tornado causing significant damage to a rural farming community near Waverly, IA.
The filmer explained: "On July 14th (2021), I departed from Illinois to chase a volatile situation in Iowa. I was initially targeting the central storm near Stanhope, IA but as I was monitoring a developing storm to the North, I noticed rotation. I targeted the Northern cell and as I approached it, the storm started to show key signs of a prolific tornado producer."
He added: "I followed it East a few miles as I approached Shell Rock, IA. I turned North to get closer to the circulation and as I approached, it spawned a multiple-vortex tornado that I would get within 100 yards of."
