Kerala reported 20,728 fresh Covid-19 infections on Sunday, almost 50 per cent of the total cases (41,831) recorded in India in a 24-hour period, according to the Union Health Ministry's data. The tally of Covid-related deaths climbed to 16,837 in the state after 56 more fatalities were reported on Sunday. Test positivity stood at 12.14 per cent.
