Former Australia captain George Bailey has been appointed as the new chairman of the Australia's selection panel. Bailey replaces Trevor Hohns in the role.Bailey, who represented Australia in 125 matches, joined the panel in February last year and takes over as chief selector before this year's T20 World Cup, a home Ashes series against England as well as away tours to the sub-continent.
ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टीम के लिए हालिया कुछ साल अच्छे नहीं रहे हैं, दशकों तक वर्ल्ड क्रिकेट में राज करने के बाद आज ऑस्ट्रेलियाई टीम वैसा दम खम नहीं दिखता जिसके लिए वो जाने जाते थे, टेस्ट क्रिकेट के साथ-साथ टी20 और वनडे क्रिकेट में भी टीम का प्रदर्शन लगातार नीचे ही गया है, आने वाले टी20 विश्वकप को देखते हुए ऑस्ट्रेलिया के जरुरी है कि टीम में कुछ बड़े बदलाव किए जाए जिससे टीम टी20 वर्ल्ड कप में शानदार खेल दिखाए, वनडे वर्ल्ड में दबदबा बनाने वाली ऑस्ट्रेलिया एक बार भी टी20 वर्ल्ड कप का खिताब अपने नाम नहीं कर पाई है, अब ऑस्टेलियाई बोर्ड ने टीम में सुधार के लिए एक दिग्गज खिलाड़ी को इसकी जिम्मेदारी दी है, पूर्व कप्तान जॉर्ज बेली को ऑस्ट्रेलिया टीम के नेशनल सिलेक्शन कमिटी का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है।
