This match was one sided. Chinese players dominated all three rounds. Earlier, Indian boxer Pooja Rani (75kg) made her Olympic debut after defeating Algeria's Ichrak Chaeb 5-0 in the opening match to enter the quarter-finals. The 30-year-old Indian had dominated her rival 10 years her junior throughout the match.

क्वार्टर फाइनल में पूजा रानी को हार मिली है। भारत की ओर से 75 किलोग्राम वर्ग में पूजा रानी का ओलिंपिक सफर खत्म हो चुका है। क्वार्टर फाइनल मुकाबले में पूजा रानी को चीन की खिलाड़ी ने 5-0 से हरा दिया है। ये मुकाबला एकतरफा ही रहा। चीनी खिलाड़ी तीनों राउंड में हावी रहीं।इससे पहले भारतीय मुक्केबाज पूजा रानी (75 किग्रा) ओलिंपिक खेलों में पदार्पण करते हुए शुरुआती मुकाबले में अल्जीरिया की इचरक चाएब को 5-0 से पराजित कर क्वॉर्टर फाइनल में प्रवेश किया था। तीस साल की भारतीय ने पूरे मुकाबले के दौरान अपने से 10 साल जूनियर प्रतिद्वंद्वी पर दबदबा बनाए रखा था।
