Keratoconus is a progressive disease of the eye. In this disease, the pupil of the eye looks like a cone. keratoconus is made up of two words kerato and cone. Kerato means cornea and cone means cone. Dr. Tushar says that due to the weakening of the pupil or cornea, the shape of the cornea becomes like a cone. Therefore, the rays that fall on the cornea form a sharp image, which makes us see clearly. But due to the weakening of the cornea, when its shape changes, we do not see clearly, because a clear image is not formed on the screen of the eye.

केराटोकोनस आंख की बढ़ती हुई बीमारी है। इस बीमारी में आंख की पुतली शंकु की तरह बाहर उभरी हुई दिखती है। केराटोकोनस दो शब्द केराटो और कोन से मिलकर बना है। केराटो का मतलब होता है कॉर्निया और कोन का मतलब होता है शंकु। डॉ. तुषार का कहना है कि पुतली या कॉर्निया कमजोर होने की वजह से कॉर्निया का आकार शंकु की तरह हो जाता है। इसलिए जो किरणें कॉर्निया पर पड़ती हैं तो वो एक शार्प इमेज बनाती हैं जिससे हमें साफ दिखता है। लेकिन कॉर्निया कमजोर होने की वजह से जब उसका आकार बदल जाता है तो हमें साफ नहीं दिखता, क्योंकि आंख के पर्दे पर साफ छवि नहीं बनती।
