A Conversation with Cometan | Season 2 Episode 16 | Thoughts on the Decline of Religion in the West

In this episode of Season 2, Cometan sits down to talk about his views on the supposed decline of religion in the Western world, especially his unique position as the founder of a new religious movement -- Astronism. Sitting beside his silver globe, Cometan explores four primary topics on the issue of the decline of religion. Firstly, the issue of science becoming a belief identity; secondly, the opportunities for new religious movements like Astronism and minorities to gain higher levels of freedom by the reduction of hegemonic forms of organised religion; thirdly, the correlation between reductions in mental wellbeing and the decline of religion and belief or associations with philosophies of life more broadly; finally, the issue of what will fill the void left behind by religion.
