Maharashtra: 80 percent Chiplun submerged in rainwater

Heavy rain has battered Maharashtra and its nearby cities. There have been torrential rains in Chiplun, Kolhapur, Satara, Akola, Yavatmal, and Hingoli of Ratnagiri for the last few days. After incessant rain, Chiplun has been submerged in floods. The rain has created such an orgy in Chiplun that people are trying to be at home. The rainwater has entered the ground level of the homes. Several teams of NDRF have been deployed in the affected areas. Chiplun is considered to be the business hub of South Konkan. Areas like Khed and Mangon adjoining Chiplun in Ratnagiri district are also submerged in floods. About 27 villages have lost contact from outer areas. The Meteorological Department has forecast that it may rain for the next 48 hours as well. Watch this episode.
