In Rajya Sabha, the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that the government, just like demonetisation, didn’t prepare for a Covid-19 lockdown. He said the government should be held accountable for this. Kharge also said that during state elections, it was the central leadership that broke its own rules by flouting covid-19 norms. Later in the day, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is scheduled to make a statement in Rajya Sabha regarding the Pegasus report. Trinamool Congress MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray has given a notice in the Rajya Sabha under Rule 267 to discuss the issue. RJD’s Manoj Jha said there is not even one person in the country who can say that he or she has not lost someone due to Covid-19. Shiv Sena’ Sanjay Raut asked the new health minister about how many more days will they require to get over the Covid-19 crises. India reported 30,093 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This is the lowest in 125 days. Overall, the country had recorded around 3.12 crore infections and over four lakh deaths since the outbreak in January last year.
