A Cloudburst triggers flash floods in Dharamshala in an Indian state of Himachal Pradesh |India

Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamsala on Monday caused a flash flood-like situation, officials said, washing away roadside parked cars and partially damaging houses.
Dharamsala, about 250 kilometres from the state capital, received 119 mm of rain, the most in this monsoon season.
Due to the gushing of water, three houses and five shops located along a seasonal rivulet in the Gaggal area were damaged. Officials told IANS that the property damage was primarily caused by encroachments on rivulets.
Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall was recorded at many locations in Kangra district, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director Manmohan Singh. The state received a lot of rain.
Palampur in Kangra district received the most rain in the state, with 155 mm, followed by Dalhousie with 48 mm, the state capital with 10 mm, and Manali with 55 mm.
The weather service has predicted heavy rain in isolated areas of the state until Wednesday.
The southwest monsoon arrived in Himachal Pradesh on June 13 for the first time in 21 years. It is expected to arrive in the state on June 26. Rains have dominated the hill state since its arrival.
