Euro 2020 - Prince Charles gets Coldstream Guards to play Three Lions ahead of England semi-final
  • 3 years ago
The Band of the Coldstream Guards played a rendition of ‘Three Lions’ and ‘Sweet Caroline’ in support of England ahead of their Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark.

They were invited by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to perform in the grounds of Clarence House.

‘Three Lions’ - by comedians David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the rock band the Lightning Seeds - was released in 1996, when England hosted the European Championships.

Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ has become a fan favourite during this competition and was played at Wembley after Gareth Southgate’s men knocked out Germany in their last 16 clash.
