TMC delegation meets President Kovind, demands removal of Tushar Mehta as Solicitor General

A delegation of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs on July 5 met President Ram Nath Kovind and sought the removal of Tushar Mehta as Solicitor General. The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the President. TMC Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra said, “We have just met with the President and submitted a memorandum to him regarding the matter of great impropriety concerning the office of SG, Tushar Mehta. You have all seen the video where the accused person in the Narada case and caught accepting money. It is very clear in the video that the security personnel at the gate spoke on the walkie-talkie and waved him inside. He comes inside and comes outside after 30 min. We ask for the immediate resignation of the SG on the grounds of gross misconduct and impropriety”
