Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has sparked controversy after he made derogatory remarks against Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh saying that "she must go and lay down at the gates of the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) dam to cover the cracks to prevent wastage of water." His statement comes in response to Sumalatha's earlier statement that the KRS dam has cracks and is leaking. Hitting back at Kumaraswamy for personal attacks against her, Sumalatha said, it shows his "culture and personality."
