The bodies of five members of a family who went missing over a month ago were exhumed from a field in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district on Tuesday evening. All five were strangled to death and dumped in an 8 to 10-foot deep pit dug.
Mamta,45, her two daughters (21-year-old Rupali and 14-year-old Divya), and two of the daughters' teen cousins went missing from their home in Dewas on May 13. Their landlord, who was in a relationship with one of the victims, and a dozen of his associates are responsible for this atrocity.
Meanwhile, the main accused, Surendra Rajput, and four other suspects have been arrested.
