Lytton, B.C. residents flee wildfire days after village recorded record heat

Nanette Phillips-Smith captured the harrowing moments as she and another person drove through the village of Lytton, B.C. amid smoke and falling ash as a wildfire advanced on the community. As many as 1,500 people from Lytton and surrounding areas were ordered to evacuate, many with as little as 15 minutes notice after the fire broke out shortly after 5 p.m. on June 30.
