IAF’s helicopters battle to douse flames in J&K’s Hijwa village

A fire that broke out in the residential area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban on June 29 has been doused. Indian Air Force Mi-17 V5 helicopters equipped with Bambi buckets were launched to facilitate firefighting operations and flames were successfully extinguished. 12 houses were gutted in the fire and almost 32 families affected. No casualties have been reported. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
