Maharashtra govt tightens Covid-19 curbs after first death from Delta-Plus variant

As Maharashtra records over 20 cases of the Delta-Plus variant, the government has tightened the Covid unlocking process. The state on Friday recorded the first death among the patients infected by this variant. The government has announced a 'state-level trigger' for imposing restrictions on administrative units irrespective of weekly positivity rate and percentage of oxygen bed occupancy.
As a precautionary measure, the Maharashtra government announced it won't ease Covid-19 restrictions beyond 'Level 3' for now. The government has also passed new orders to contain the spread of viral infection. Watch the video to find out more.
