BJP candidates are set to be elected unopposed in 16 districts of district panchayat president in Uttar Pradesh. In fact, no one has filed nomination papers against them. While the Samajwadi Party has alleged that the Yogi government through the police kidnapped and held its district panchayat candidates hostage and did not allow them to file nominations.

उत्तर प्रदेश में जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष के 16 जिलों में बीजेपी के प्रत्याशियों का निर्विरोध चुना जाना तय है. दरअसल इनके खिलाफ किसी ने भी नामांकन पत्र दाखिल नहीं किया है. जबकि समाजवादी पार्टी ने आरोप लगाया है कि योगी सरकार ने पुलिस के ज़रिये उसके ज़िला पंचायत उम्मीदवारों को अपहृत और बंधक बना लिया और उन्हें नामांकन नहीं भरने दिया.
