Half of King Street left shut before lockdown was extended

King Street in Newtown is one of Sydney’s busiest streets, and for a while yesterday it was split in two by the city’s lockdown, with half the shops having to shut their doors. It wasn’t long before the lockdown extended and the whole street was forced to close up, with restaurants and cafes pivoting to takeaway where they could. Andrea Taccone is the manager of the Alba Salentinian Restaurant on King Street and was left confused by the ordeal.
