Former AIADMK minister arrested for rape, forced abortion of Malaysian woman

Former AIADMK minister M Manikandan has been arrested in Bengaluru after a Malaysian woman levelled rape charges against him. Manikandan has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges of rape, causing miscarriage and cheating. The complaint was lodged two weeks ago at the women’s police station in Adyar, in which the woman stated she is an actor by profession and had been in a relationship with Manikandan for years.
