The Punjab government was accused of earning profit from the Covid-19 vaccination drive, Now the opposition parties have alleged that the state government made money in the name of Covid kits as well.

The Punjab government floated a tender in April to procure twenty items including sanitisers, masks, oximeters, thermometers and Covid medicines to be given to Covid patients in a kit. The tender was awarded to the firm that quoted the lowest price, i.e. Rs 837 per kit, and was made valid for a period of six months.

However, another tender was floated on April 20 to procure 50,000 kits and the price per kit was revised to Rs 1,226. A third tender was issued on May 7 to buy 150 kits at Rs 1,338.40 per kit.
