These visuals might seem unusual. There are teachers in a school, but no students. Instead you can see grown-up women taking lessons from the teachers. With masks and social distancing, these women are not here for themselves, but are attending schools for their children. Looks and sounds strange? But it is an idea that the teachers of Balenpali Government School under Dunguripali Block of Sonepur district have come up with to take education to the doorsteps of students.

The COVID-19 pandemic has not just changed our lifestyle it also changed the way children get education. However, not everyone is privileged enough to have access to internet and mobile devices. So the school discovered this method of having a teacher in every child’s home in the form of their mothers. This collective effort has helped children gain knowledge despite all adversities.

This innovative way of teaching is a perfect example of how adversities yield unique solutions.
