If your hopes are high and your determination is strong, anything is possible. This youth from Hinjilicut village from Ganjam district has proved that you can even make organic incense sticks out of waste papers and dry flowers.

Sibani Patra or Siba from Hinjilicut village is a third year graduation student. Siba learnt about this technique of producing organic incense sticks from a YouTube video.

To make these handmade organic incense sticks, Siba goes around every day collecting dry flowers from temples. Apart from these flowers he also collects waste papers, books, newspapers and recycles them. After a long process involving hard work and effort, these organic materials are then transformed into incense sticks with lovely fragrances.

Siba then does the packaging of these incense sticks, and sells them to households. The idea that Siba once had of giving chemical-free incense sticks, has become a reality. Siba is able to sell these products to earn a handsome income to support his family.
