In a disconcerting incident, a police constable sustained multiple injuries after some unidentified miscreants hurled crude-bombs at a police team. The incident was reported from Dalabhaga village under Khuntuni Police Limits of Athagarh block in Cuttack district.

The incident happened during a clash between locals and the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) workers over laying of electric wires to supply power to a cement factory. It is being alleged that the violence was triggered by the simmering resentment among farmers who have been demanding compensation for their land where the electric cables and towers are being installed.

The miscreants escaped soon after hurling crude bombs at the police team which was supervising the work.

Following the incident the Choudwar SDPO, two IICs and two platoons of police force have been deployed at the spot.
