Senior Government Clerk’s House Raided By Vigilance | OTV News

This may seem to be some big shipment of high-end mobile phones. But they are from the collection found in possession of Asit Kumar Nayak, a senior clerk of the Roads and Buildings Division of the Odisha Public Works Department. Not only these phones, but the Vigilance department also recovered Rs 10, 62,605 cash, gold ornaments and other valuable household articles from Asit Kumar’s possession after a raid on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.
This is the triple-story residential building of Asit Kumar in Dumduma where the anti-corruption officials conducted a raid today.
The vigilance officials also raided his parental house at Golanthara and office chamber at R&B Division on the strength of search warrant issued by Special Judge, Vigilance. Based on the assets found, the Vigilance officials arrested Asit Kumar today.
In separate cases, the Vigilance department also conducted raids at Rourkela and Berhampur over corruption charges against government officials. While the residence of a Commercial Tax official working at the office of GST was raided in Rourkela, an Anganwadi worker in Berhampur also came under the Vigilance glare for allegedly amassing ill-gotten properties.
