25 Injured As Private Bus Overturns In Odisha | OTV News

More than 25 passengers were injured as a bus overturned near Phulbani in Kandhamal district. The incident took place when the bus was crossing Gadiapada around 12 AM. The private bus was en route to Bhubaneswar from Tikabali of the district when the driver of the vehicle lost control while negotiating a sharp turn. As a result, the bus carrying around 40 passengers skidded off the road and overturned along the ghat. After learning about the mishap locals rushed to the spot and immediately informed Khajuripada Police. A police team along with the fire services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers.
All the injured were initially taken to Khajuripada Hospital in ambulances. Later around 20 passengers who had received critical injuries were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
According to reports, four persons are in a critical condition. Meanwhile, the Khajuripada Police has started an investigation to ascertain the exact cause behind the accident. The police have also seized the bus and suspect that the driver lost control due to some mechanical fault in the vehicle.
