The Arabian Carpet shark released back into the wild after being cared for by a team of aquarists

In collaboration with Dubai Municipality, a special team has been breeding and caring for the Arabian Carpet shark. Also known as Chiloscyllium arabicum, they are native to the Arabian Gulf and
inhabits coral reefs and mangrove estuaries locally. These species are
classified as Near Threatened (NT) with a declining population trend and are likely to qualify for a threatened category in the near future.
