दिल्ली के बुराड़ी स्थित ‘विनायक दृष्टिहीन महिला कल्याण समाज’ नाम की संस्था दृष्टिबाधित लड़कियों के लिए एक हॉस्टल का संचालन करती है. देश के कई राज्यों की लड़कियां यहां रहकर विभिन्न कॉलेजों से पढ़ाई कर रही हैं. उनसे द वायर हिंदी के कार्यकारी संपादक बृजेश सिंह की बातचीत.

दिल्ली के एक सरकारी स्कूल में प्रिंसिपल रहे दशराज ज्ञवाली ने साल 2002 में विनायक दृष्टिहीन महिला कल्याण समाज की स्थापना की थी. ये संस्था बुराड़ी के संतनगर में दृष्टिबाधित लड़कियों के लिए एक हॉस्टल का संचालन करती है.

दशराज ख़ुद जन्म से ही दृष्टिबाधित हैं. वर्तमान में इस हॉस्टल में देश के विभिन्न राज्यों से आईं तक़रीबन 70 दृष्टिबाधित लड़कियां रह रही हैं.

दशराज के मुताबिक, उन्हें सरकार की तरफ़ से कोई आर्थिक सहायता नहीं मिलती और समाज के सहयोग से वे इस हॉस्टल का संचालन कर रहे हैं.

The Vinayak Welfare Society for Visually Impaired Women runs a hostel for visually impaired girls in Burari, Delhi. Girls from many states stay here and study in different colleges. Brijesh Singh, the executive editor of The Wire Hindi, meets with the students to learn about their problems.

Dasraj Gyawali, a principal in a government school in Delhi, established the Vinayak Society for the Welfare of Blind Women in 2002. He is blind from birth.

Currently, there are about 70 visually impaired girls from various states of the hostel living in this hostel. According to Dashraj, the Society does not get any financial support from the government and operates the hostel with the help of society.
