Unrealistic Growth Projections Can Affect The Accuracy of Budget Decisions: Economist Arun Kumar
  • 3 years ago
Professor Arun Kumar and The Wire's M.K. Venu discuss the new Modi government's GDP growth-rate projections and the impact of unrealistic growth numbers on the economy. They also talk about how the government can revive India's unorganised sector, which employs 94% Indians, that has bit hit hard due to the GST implementation, demonetisation and the NBFC crisis.

The next union Budget will be presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5, during the first sitting of the 17th Lok Sabha which will begin on June 17, 2019.
