The Modi-led government in Uttar Pradesh has been facing flak for its development drive in Kashi. Locals say that once they vacate the area move out, they won't find jobs anywhere else. Small vendors fear that they will be forced to shut shop because of the new showrooms that will line-up along the Kashi Corridor.
