End of Netanyahu era looms in Israel, as his opponents form new Israeli government

An unlikely alliance of parties from across Israel’s political landscape have reached a deal to try and form a government, with the aim of removing Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu after 12 years in power. The coalition, formed by Yair Lapid, leader of the centrist Yesh Atid party, needs to win a parliamentary vote before being sworn in.
