Few Candidates Rising To Professorship Positions

Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina Has Lamented On The Low Number Of Candidates Rising To Full Professorship Positions. Prof Wainaina Says That The University Needs More Academics As The Few Who Are There Are On The Verge Of Retiring. Wainaina Raised Concern Over The Shortage Of Professors In The Institution Over The Past Few Years, Saying University Has Not Had A Full Professor For The Past Four Years To Replace Those Who Retire Or Leave Through Other Causes. He Said The Department Of Education Has Only Four Full And Two Associate Professors And That Most Of The Remaining Profs Will Be All Gone In The Coming Years, Leaving The University At Cross Roads In Terms Of Education Quality And Research
