New IT Rules: Google claims, the rule does not apply to search engines. Regarding the new IT rules brought by the Indian government, Google claimed that the information technology rules for digital media do not apply to its search engine. The Delhi High Court was requested on Wednesday to set aside the order of a single judge, under which these rules were also applied to the company during the hearing of the matter related to removal of objectionable material from the Internet.

Indian government की ओर से लाए गए New IT Rules को लेकर Google ने दावा किया कि डिजिटल मीडिया के लिए सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी के नियम उसके सर्च इंजन पर लागू नहीं होते. Delhi High Court से बुधवार को रिक्वेस्ट किया था कि वो एकल न्यायाधीश के उस आदेश को दरकिनार करे, जिसके तहत इंटरनेट से आपत्तिजनक सामग्री हटाने संबंधी मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान कंपनी पर भी इन नियमों को लागू किया गया था.
