Wales caretaker manager Rob Page and defender Ben Davies said on Monday that star forward Gareth Bale's involvement with the country at Euro 2020 is "absolutely important."

Bale was a key member of the Wales team that exceeded all expectations at Euro 2016 in France, where they reached the semi-finals before defeat to eventual champions Portugal.

Page has taken over caretaker managerial duties from Ryan Giggs, who was arrested in April after being charged with coercive control and actual bodily harm in relation to his ex-girlfriend, while he was also charged with assault by beating relating to a second woman, and he will go on trial on 24th January next year.

Wales have been drawn in Group A along with Italy, Switzerland and Turkey and Page hoped his side can go "toe-to-toe with all of them" as they bid to reach the knockout stages.
