In a major development, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday invited non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh residing in 13 districts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab to apply for Indian citizenship.The new order issued on Friday is not related to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed in 2019 because the government has not implemented it yet.
