Cyclone Yaas review meet row: Mamata Banerjee says Centre trying to defame her; BJP hits back

A fresh showdown has erupted between the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal and Centre after the latter recalled the state chief secretary following a face-off over a review meeting on Cyclone Yaas, in which chief minister Mamata Banerjee allegedly 'skipped' the meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The TMC has called the move vindictive politics. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday held a press conference and launched a scathing attack on PM Modi and Amit Shah. She stated that the Centre is trying to defame her and has insulted her. Meanwhile, BJP's Gaurav Bhatia slammed the chief minister.
