Despite the pronounced effects of Cyclone Yaas, several fishermen were seen near the sea in Ganjam district of Odisha. Fishermen were roaming freely even as the sea turned turbulent in Gopalpur area. Meteorological Department, Gopalpur has announced a Yellow alert in the district. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the 'very severe cyclonic storm' is expected to make landfall near Dhamra and south Balasore by noon today with a wind speed of 130-140 kmph gusting up to 155 kmph.
