Two men who died in early exploration trip are honoured

110 years since Sir Douglas Mawson led the Australasian Antarctic expedition, a memorial has been unveiled in Tasmania to remember the two men who lost their lives. The deaths of Lieutenant Belgrave Ninnis and Dr Xavier Mertz form one of the most tragic but compelling stories from early Antarctic exploration.
