With the surge in coronavirus cases, the pandemic this time accounts for an increase in cases of black fungus or mucormycosis. India reports 9,000 cases of black fungus. Gujarat shows a tally of 2,281 cases and is the worst affected state. Other states such as Andhra Pradesh have 910 cases, Haryana with 250 cases, and Delhi with 197 have been reported.
