Il vincitore di tappa Victor Campenaerts, subito dopo l'arrivo, ha dichiarato: "Incredibile, che giornata. Volevamo veramente vincere oggi perchè non abbiamo scalatori per le prossime tappe di montagna. Sono andato in fuga con altri due compagni di squadra, eravamo veramente motivati. Abbiamo avuto un anno difficile, noi corriamo per un progetto benefico e con queste tre vittorie al Giro adesso siamo più fiduciosi per il futuro e per continuare il nostro progetto: crediamo che la bicicletta possa cambiare la vita, sopratutto in Africa. Ubuntu, io sono ciò che sono in virtù di ciò che tutti siamo".

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Victor Campenaerts said: “It was just an amazing day for the team. As we don't have climbers for the next few stages in the mountains, we decided to go all in today. We rode as one: ubuntu - 'I am because we are'. We gave everything from the first few kilometers, what a fantastic day. We did a great job and I am so happy I could finish it off. Now we have three victories in the Giro, which is simply fantastic for a team that struggled to stay alive.
