Il vincitore di tappa Lorenzo Fortunato, subito dopo l'arrivo, ha dichiarato: "Non mi rendo ancora conto di cosa ho fatto. Sapevo di stare bene per questo volevo andare in fuga stamattina, il mio compagno di squadra Vincenzo Albanese ha lavorato tanto per me, devo ringraziarlo. Sapevo che gli ultimi 3km erano i più duri, allora ho aspettato il finale per attaccare e poi dare tutto fino al traguardo."
La Maglia Rosa Egan Bernal, subito dopo l'arrivo, ha dichiarato: “Ho cercato di mantenere la calma quando abbiamo iniziato la salita dello Zoncolan: sapevo di essere in buona posizione in classifica generale e non avevo bisogno di muovermi per primo. Ho seguito Simon Yates quando ha attaccato e poi ho fatto un'accelerazione nel finale: penso di aver corso bene.
Adesso ho un buon vantaggio in classifica ma devo restare calmo e concentrato, può succedere ancora di tutto in questo Giro".

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Lorenzo Fortunato said: “I haven't fully realized yet what I just did. I knew I was in good shape and this morning I really wanted to go in the breakaway. My teammate Vincenzo Albanese worked hard for me in the break, I have to thank him. I knew that the last 3km were the hardest, for this reason, I waited for the final part of the Zoncolan to attack and then I gave it everything until the finish line".
The Maglia Rosa Egan Bernal said: “I tried to remain calm when we tackled the Zoncolan because I knew I was in a good position in the GC and did not need to attack first. I followed Simon Yates when he attacked and then I did an acceleration in the finale. I think I did a good race. Now I have a good lead but I need to remain calm and focused, anything can happen in the Giro.”
