Mucormycosis (popularly known as black fungus) can spread through air but it won’t cause any problem if a person is healthy, informed Professor and Head of Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism, AIIMS Delhi, Dr Nikhil Tandon on May 22. “Mucor can spread through air. It won’t cause any problem if person is healthy. Mucor may enter into lungs but the chances are very low. Our body is capable to fight it if the immunity is strong,” Tandon said.
