Seventeen people who were suspended following a raid at a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Covid war room by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya have been reinstated by the civic body.

Sources told India Today that 17 Muslim employees at the BBMP Covid war room were asked to rejoin work after the police couldn't find evidence against them in the alleged bribe-for-bed scam. Top police sources said the investigation into the scam pertaining to blocking beds in private hospitals for Covid patients had not revealed the involvement of those Muslims whose names were mentioned by Surya on May 4 in a live programme.
