Why Congress performed poorly in UP Panchayat elections?

The results of the panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh have come. Out of 3050 Panchayat members, Samajwadi Party won 747 Zila Panchayat seats while BJP got 690 seats, BSP supported candidate won 381 seats. While 76 Zila Panchayat seats have come to the account of Congress-supported candidates. Why did Congress perform so poorly in this election? The party spokesperson Supriya Shrinet responded to this.
