ఇద్దరు రాజకీయ దురంధరులు, మాజీ ముఖ్యమంత్రులు కరుణానిధి, జయలలిత లేని ఎన్నికలను తమిళనాడు అసెంబ్లీ ఎదుర్కొంది. ఆ ఇద్దరు నేతల వారసులుగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎడప్పాడి పళనిస్వామి, డీఎంకే అధినేత, ప్రతిపక్ష నేత ఎంకే స్టాలిన్ ఈ ఎన్నికల్లో తలపడ్డారు. డీఎంకే-కాంగ్రెస్ కూటమి ఈ ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ చేసింది. ఎంకే స్టాలిన్ సారథ్యంలోని ప్రారంభ ఫలితాల్లో డీఎంకే దూసుకెళ్తోంది.భారీ ఆధిక్యతను కనపరుస్తోంది. డీఎంకే, ఏఐఏడీఎంకే పార్టీల మధ్య ఉన్న ఆధిక్యతలో చెప్పుకోదగ్గస్థాయిలో తేడా కనిపిస్తోంది. ఏఐఏడీఎంకేతో పోల్చుకుంటే.. సగం స్థానాలకు పైగా డీఎంకే లీడ్‌లో ఉంటోంది. 52 స్థానాల్లో డీఎంకే 33 చోట్ల అన్నా డీఎంకే లీడ్‌లో కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. కమల్ హాసన్ నేతృత్వంలోని మక్కల్ నీథి మయ్యం ఏ మాత్రం ప్రభావం చేపలేకపోయినట్టు కనిపిస్తోంది. ప్రారంభ రౌండ్లలో ఆ పార్టీ ఎక్కడా కూడా ఆధిక్యతలోకి రాలేదు.
