Brad Stevens was interviewed after the Oklahoma City Thunder pulled off a 119-115 win against the Celtics, snapping a 14-game losing streak. Stevens was quick to give the Thunder credit, saying “they made a lot of shots… there were a few where I thought we should have fouled… we weren’t great defensively most of the night.” As tensions are rising, Stevens curtly stated “I’m going to get ready for tomorrow’s game… that’s what we have to do… we should have played better, we could have played better.”
The team as a whole struggled from three, shooting a measly 22.4% from deep and ultimately cost them the game. “Attacking the basket and getting layups is always the first option” Stevens said, “there were some that were certainly forced… and there were some that were just missed… they made big, big shots in the fourth.” The Thunder shot 43.3% from deep on the night. Coach Stevens ultimately said that there were “no excuses. Had our chances...the fourth quarter they were really really good...you just didn’t want to be the team they did it against [Thunder breaking their losing streak]...I’m not going to dwell on it.”
