Nutshell Summary: - At night, Paris arrives at the Capulet tomb to lay flowers for Juliet. - Romeo arrives; Paris challenges him; Romeo reluctantly fights; Paris dies. - Romeo reunites with sleeping Juliet, drinks potion, and dies. - Friar Laurence arrives just as Juliet wakes up. - Juliet sees Romeo dead and stabs herself. - The Prince, Montague, and the Capulets arrive and peace is established, the wasteland healed. - Montague announces that the sacrificial heroes will be immortalized in a statue. Apotheosis: Hero transcends human limitations; from death, hero is reborn as god.
