Vaccine registration for 18+ persons to begin from April 28; Covid norms flouted at Rakesh Tikait's Iftaar party; more

Vaccine registrations on the government portal, CoWin, for all those above 18 years will commence from April 28, the Center announced on Thursday. Certain modifications, including the age criteria and a few other features, have been done and the CoWIN platform is ready to meet the rising demand as is expected once the vaccination for all is opened up. The central government had announced that the vaccination for those above 18 years will begin across the country from May 1 as part of the third phase of the inoculation drive. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait organised an Iftar party at the Ghazipur border flouting the Covid-19 norms amid a massive surge in coronavirus cases.
