The government is pursuing the acquisition of seven million doses of vaccines from Pfizer as well as 10 million from Johnson & Johnson to supplement the Astrazeneca vaccines. This is according to health cabinet secretary mutahi kagwe who earlier today said that India, the manufacturer of the AstraZeneca vaccines, was experiencing difficulties, with over 200,000 cases of covid-19 being recorded daily. However, Kagwe said it’s not definite that the country will receive all the doses given the global demand for lifesaving vaccines.
